Today used up the nian gao

Today used up the nian gao. had been sitting and occupying space in the fridge for ages since CNY .

First I got an orr (Purple yam, Yam, cocoyam, watever), the ones they used to make Teochew Orr Ni (slowly scroll down, you won't miss it). Steam, mash and strain to get a paste.

Spread the paste over pieces of sliced nian gao and dip into batter and fry.

You'll end up with a fragrant sweet dessert - gooey in the centre and crispy on the outside.

*sin sin sin*
