Yeah flowered my first bulbo in ages...
I tried to stay away from all forms of bulbos after sending many to their ugly rotting floating graves. But then Anna insisted I take one to try during the SOS 2006 and wow it managed to grow. Now let's bow our heads in prayer that it isn't a swan song. @@

Visit to yee Peng Nursery - other plants
Visit to Yee Peng Nursery - Other Orchids
Visit to Yee Peng Nursery - Phalaenopsis alliance
Some of these plants belong to Melvin and Simon - I think almost all, not just some.
Phalaenopsis bellina
This one is quite big (see number of my short stubby fingers behind)
Phalaenopsis violacea var alba
Phalaenopsis hybrids
Phalaenopsis Hew Choy Sin
I tot I saw this at WL before
Doritis pulcherrima - dark purple edition

Visit to Yee Peng Nursery - Vandaeous
Willie (no relation to the other one) showed me around his Vandaeous experiments. Crossing names I do not know - didn't bother to ask until I intend to buy any - vandaeous are a no no in my arid balcony.
National flower's lao bu or lao pei Papilioanthe teres
Vanda Mimi Palmer hybrids:
I like the colour of this one. The rest of the plants havevery long yellow spikes but this one is short and green-yellow
This one is really nicely rounded. Looked as if Vandanopsis (can't remember the other genus) parishii was used
Couple of Renatheras

Visit to Yee Peng Nursery - Laelinae
Very sianz during my short break before I break my brains in the hospital. Decided to pay a dear friend a visit @ his father's farm near Jalan Kayu. The sky was darkening, so went earlier to snap some shaky pics.
The draw of this place is that it is a breeding ground for new colours and shapes - a far cry from the other import and sell kinda place. It was exciting to see the outcomes of these genetic experiments.
Pai sey for the lobe-sided pix, not time to readjust. Verli busy.
Tee or or
Epidendrum hybrid
My all time fave, Cattleya Brymeriana (Cattleya violacea X Cattleya eldorado)
Brassavola influenced hybrids:
Huge chunk of Brassavola Singapura (a few pots together actually =p)
